Its water is so salty and dense you cannot sink. Nothing lives in the water and life in the surrounding Judean wilderness is harsh. It was the home of a Roman centurion named Cornelius whose household found salvation after Peter’s vision. Ephesus was the second largest city in the Roman Empire. A strategic location where Paul spent three years working, ministering, and writing to the Corinthians.
